I've only heard of relationships ending over compulsive gaming but had those people not had gaming it probably would've been something else anyway. I recently learned some people can be addicted to "online mature entertainment" and as you might imagine, that has caused more than a fair share of failed relationships. Off topic I know but w/e, I thought it was weird adn worth sharing.

Personally I've never ended a relationship because a game and can't imagine doing so, but I have broke up with at least one person because she, like a lot of women, just can't tell time.

"I'm busy I'll call you back in five" does not mean hound my damn phone for the next ten minutes or fill up my voicemail with useless ranting and threats. It means I will call you back in about five minutes since you're not talking about anything interesting, and I'm busy - maybe on a game or maybe handling other business. Point is, don't bother me for about five minutes. Check your watch or something.

Lol Jenny that is so funny. I think people obtaining "SERIOUS" relationships online without even seeing or really knowing the person is silly stupid as well. I remember when I used to "play" on AOL and went through 13 females in one year lol. Wooed em till I got what I wanted (sex) then found some reason (anything) to dump them and go onto the next. hahaha

GW did not change my real life, I play when I can, and that is enough for me and for the people close to me ...... whom I love a lot more more that GW.

Guildwars doesnt end relationships, nor is it the cause of it.

If your relationship ends because you spend more time on GW than with your partner then there are far bigger problems in your relationship than GW.

Like, why is GW more entertaining for you than your partner FFS ?

If you can't appreciate a good partner and give her/him the attention they need then you deserve to be abandoned. Love is very valuable, cherish it..before it's gone.

I knew people that played grindy MMOs. I told them it sucked and they said GW sucked because of lack of item diversity. I said at least I'm not grinding for stuff.

I don't see why a relationship should come to an end because one of the two plays Guild Wars.... unless of course one of the two becomes an addict and loses interest in their gf/bf.

About meeting people on GW. I don't know anyone that desperate.

Trust me the 50ies idea of men working while women stay home to tend the nest works because when you both work 50-70hours each a week nothing gets done at home and your both to tied to give a damn about each other.

Ive been playing GW for a long long time... But February 8th will be 5 years for me and my GF, so Ive been with her much longer. She dislikes the amount of time I spend playing, but we never fight/argue about it. If this game would make a "partner" end the relationship between you two; you're better off without'em.

Mine and my bf's realtionship works because we are both gamers (even if he is a filthy wow player) we can talk to each other about stats, characters and the like and we D&D together too with our friends - which is great fun (Apart from his scaryily-uncanny knack with dice. I swear its rigged!)

Hmm, not in GWs yet. But in WoW? OMG, what a mess that game made of half the adults in my last guild, destroyed real-life friendships, divorces, mass hysteria and screaming fits over Vent, a couple of hook ups, well I guess it's kind a like real life, and not like real life. . . . Funny how people only escape reality to find themselves making the same mess in virtual reality. But yeah, no fun in WoW when most of your guild is fooled into thinking they're playing something worth more than RL, "It's just a game." I'd keep telling them. Addiction has a way of ignoring the truth.
